Description

Gojirox-CV Tablet is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic formulation designed to provide broad-spectrum antibacterial action against a wide range of bacterial infections, including those caused by β-lactamase–producing organisms. Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to bacterial death. It is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. However, some bacteria produce β-lactamase enzymes that can deactivate cefuroxime. To overcome this resistance, Clavulanic Acid, a potent β-lactamase inhibitor, is combined with cefuroxime. Clavulanic acid has minimal direct antibacterial activity but prevents the enzymatic degradation of cefuroxime, thereby restoring and enhancing its effectiveness. This combination is commonly used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, and community-acquired pneumonia), skin and soft-tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and certain ENT infections. It is also beneficial in mixed infections where multiple organisms might be involved or where resistance to standard antibiotics is suspected. The recommended dosage and duration depend on the severity of the infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical judgment. Tablets should typically be taken after meals to enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, and rash. As with all antibiotics, inappropriate or incomplete use may contribute to antimicrobial resistance. The combination should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to β-lactam antibiotics and in those with impaired kidney or liver function. Overall, Cefuroxime 500 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablet offers a synergistic and reliable therapeutic option for managing a wide variety of bacterial infections, especially when resistance is a concern. Always use under medical supervision.
